Get Your Questions about Hypnosis Answered

Q: How does hypnosis work?

A: During hypnosis, you will enter a state of mind that allows for deep relaxation not only of the body but also of the mind, specifically, the gateway between the conscious and subconscious mind. Relaxed and open, positive and affirming beliefs can be introduced, helping create in the mind the changes you desire.

Q: Can anyone be hypnotized?

A: Anyone with an IQ of at least 70 who can follow simple directions can be hypnotized. Hypnotism often works best on individuals with active imaginations and good mental dexterity. If someone refuse to cooperate with the hypnosis process, or if s/he shows fear or lack of understanding, that person may not be able to be hypnotized.

Q: Are there any harmful side effects to hypnosis?

A: Hypnosis is a natural method that shifts your mindset and how you think about goals. No drugs or chemicals are used—your body is not being tricked into doing anything—so there is no risk of a harmful side effect. What you will experience are increased feelings of relaxation, peace, empowerment and confidence.

Q: Will hypnosis cause me to discover or reveal something I prefer not to?

A: Likely not. Your subconscious mind only gives you what you are ready to handle or work through, and we encourage you to trust your subconscious. It can be very empowering to face an issue and then release it so you can move forward.

Q: How much are the programs?

A: Positive Changes offers a range of hypnosis programs that are meant to meet the needs of a wide variety of people and their various goals. Your personal coach will help determine which program makes the most sense for you, and at that point, we’ll be able to discuss pricing with you in more detail.
